Hi,

I need new shocks (as called by the experts on this board) and am looking at the Bilstein TCs which can be gotten on eBay for $289. The listing says for automatic, so I sent the seller a question and received a prompt reply linking to the manual version, which was the same listing that states automatic.

So I've replied back but I figured I'd check with the experts here. Is there any difference between shocks based on transmission type? None of the research I've done seems to indicate that.

My priorities are to keep a sporty feel but the car needs to stay comfortable.

Any thoughts on the choice? 96 SETC 182K. By the way, the new rear sway bar from MP Performance is amazing. I think I will have to look into a subframe brace and steering rack clamp. My engine still seems good and the car is running well, a few hundred bucks and some wrench time to make it feel like a completely different (and better) car is just the ticket for continued enjoyment of my Saab. The improvement with the sway bar was so big, I can't imagine what the other suspension mods would do.
