I purchased "OE" rings for my 1998 900SE 2.0 Turbo from a board supplier and received "Deves Set number 2538" piston rings. They are made of "Sweedish materials" and are Cast iron alloy. My car has balance shaft issues and has had moderage sludging. A Saab Mastertech that is now independent has the car and we are pulling the head, vatted and valve job with new valve seals and pulling the sump to clean it out. He expressed concerns over the oil rings being sludged up so since we have the sump off we are pulling the pistons and putting new rings and rod bearings in. The car has 104,000 miles on it and never burned a drop of oil that was noticable on the stick. The board sponsor says Deves is the OE supplier to Saab. I would like to get anyone's input about these rings particularly Swedecar. I am also interested about the set number of 2538 being correct. The Deves web site shows this application for 1989 and up 9000 2.3 turbo or non turbo and really does not list a NG900. Thank you.
