Here comes the rant!
Disconnect your battery before you start poking around!
My little problem was in the bundle of wires on the passenger (right) side next to the ACC and Radio. I had to remove the center console side panel and glove box, as well as the curved metal brace against which the wires would rub. I soldered all the broken wires and re-taped everything, then encased the whole loom in that tubular foam pipe insulation stuff.
You may just have to dig around in the wire loom and see where the abrasion is occuring, re-tape your wires where the insulation wore off, then provide some sort of padding to prevent further damage.
My fuses provided no protection. The ONLY fuse that blew in my case was the rear light/License plate light, (10 amp) all the other fuses remained intact whilst the flames leapt merrily behind my dashboard.
Again, disconnect your battery!
Hope this helps!
