When I was shopping for a car I seriously considered an Audi A4 and one thing I found is they seem to have much more frequent wet braking problems than Saabs if postings on this board are any inidicator. If you have a few minutes go to http://www.audiworld.com to the A4 Forum and search on wet braking.
What you can learn is what people have done to help minimize wet braking problems. Some A4 owners have installed either cross drilled or slotted rotors to allow water to dissipate faster when the brakes are applied. As a note, Viggens have slotted rotors and I have not experienced any wet-braking problems in 18k miles. I also saw this on Swedish Dynamic's website (http://www.saabperformanceparts.com) under brakes/cross-drilled rotors: Wet weather braking: This is noticeably better, as well, since these same escape paths work for water which is normally trapped in the pad contact area. Others have installed different brake pads with mixed success. Some of the Audi owners also installed rotor shields which help keep water off the rotor but might also not allow heat to escape as well in regular braking.
Its good that you had the dealer check it out so you've ruled out any brake system failure. You may want to explore one of these other alternatives and/or follow the advice of the others here to allow extra space and periodically apply the brakes in wet driving.
Good Luck - Let us know how you make out.
