Again, the exterior color will have a negligible difference (if any) on engine temperature. Asphalt is black and on a hot day in Phoenix the temperature within two feet of the road surface probably exceeds 180-F so the amount of heat radiated up as you drive will increase your engine temperature a lot more than your exterior paint color. Either way, modern cars are designed to operate in a pretty broad temperature spectrum so that shouldn't be a problem. One thing you'll need to be vigilant on in the desert, however, is the condition of your tires, belts, hoses, thermostat, water pump, and electric fan motor (which may be thermostatically controlled in Saabs). Heat tends to exacerbate their weaknesses and breaking down in 115F temperatures anywhere is unwise. BUT! A tan interior and some good window tinting should get you through a Phoenix summer. Also consider buying driving gloves for the black steering wheel. It'll be hot! Good Luck!
