In this database, the '99 9-3 ranks among the 5 most expensive cars to maintain of all 1999 cars. This is unconscionable.

I've had no trouble with mine and of the posts I've seen in here, other than a single warranty claim for the heater control knob, there have been no common, unwarrantied expense items.

What's going on? Is there a force out there corrupting the CarTalk database with false claims or are '99 owners really spending $383.00 per unit to keep their cars whole?

I'd urge '99 owners especially to flange up this database making it a point of going into Cartalk and making their database speak the truth.

This maintenance cost survey is clearly unscientific. In the same CarTalk database, however, we rank among the top re-purchased, most faithful of any cars ranking 6th, just ahead of Acura. It won't stay this way if owners of new cars are really having to fork over $383.00 per unit, unwarrantied, for repairs to a 2 year-old car.
