I guess its a personal decision on the handles...I have the base 9-3 and the handles are fine for me...What I would be more worried about is the fit and finish of the car in general. I have rattles and creaks everywhere. Also check where the carpeting meets the plastic on the floors. It can get bunched up if it not installed properly. I would go with the SE. My roomate has and SE and compared to my base its night and day in the good way...
