I have a 99 9-5 wagon manual and an '01 9-3 SE. They are 2 diff cars. The 99 is more refined with amenties and not really a sports feel because of the suspension selection. The 9-3 SE's suspension is great and tight. My opinions on both:
- 9-5 wagon is more refined with better interior appointments and obviously more room. It has roof racks ready for the cross bars while the 9-3 is an uninterrupted roof line. Adding racks on the 9-3 makes the car look strange. It is wider than the 9-3. You kind of feel tight in the 9-3.
- The 9-3 SE is more fun to drive and open up for pure 'muscle' feeling. The 9-5 is has a smooth pull. The recent year revisions on the 2.3 l engine escape me. The V-6 is strong and sound gutteral. It sound like a GM engine.
