I have 9-3(base, manual) ' 99 - 34,500 miles. I bough it new 2.5 years ago. I had boost valve replaced at 5000K. The car came with vibrating moonroof, so it was replaced. The clutch broke at 34,000 and left me on the road. The CD Changer skips from time to time when it's really hot. The Radio Antena Motor get stuck, so needs fixing (no warranty). The car warranty is 50,000 miles/4 years regardless of owner. This car is leased and the Residual value (the value to pay If I want to keep the car) is $17'500.00 + $1500 in taxes. So having the car for $13,000 + Auto is a steal. Enjoy it.
I also have 9-3SE (manual) '01 - I own the car from 10 monts, I turned 12,000 miles and the car is PERFECT. I forgot where the dealer was located. I've been there only one's for 10,000 miles regular maintenace and oil change. I'm just amaized from the improved quality. The J&D Power award for Best Initial Quality for SAAB 95 just prooves that.
I also had an very old 9000S '88 which was absolutely falling a part no matter how many efforts I have put in this car. (Probably just too old). This includes a major problems when the auto-tranny died at 98K. I'm happy that this crappy quality days are gone.
