my experience with EBC green-stuff pads

I had EBC green stuff pads on my 9-3 for a while. For the first
500 miles, they made awful squealing sounds, but that went away.
After that, I was quite pleased with them - a vast reduction in
brake dust. After about 5 months, I began to feel a vibration
in the brake pedal. It got steadily worse, and six months after
installing the EBC pads my rotors were totally warped. I called
up EBC, and apparently this was a known problem (thanks for telling
me :-)). They supposedly changed the formula for the green-stuff
pads early in 2001 to reduce customers problems with warped rotors.
EBC offered to give me a new set of pads for free, but I didn't
take them up on it. By that point it had become too expensive an
experiment for me to take a chance on warping a second set of rotors.
