So as not to step on any toes, I only cited the saleslady’s looks (in this case lack of) in an attempt to comprehend why this person had been hired to sell Saabs. As I explained earlier, their employment didn’t appear to be based on either their product knowledge or personality. In terms of the concept of looks and its relationship with sales, I don’t think it can be denied that good looks are frequently used to sell cars. To see this one has only to attend an auto show and see the scores of attractive models handing out brochures of the latest model X.
