I live in Colorado and salt is not used like in Canada or east US, but roads are horrible anyway (no holes, but a lot of bumps, due to the pure clay under the roads). I'm not concerned about potholes as much as I'm trying to figure out what should I use here in Colorado and how good are Gislaved tires. It is Colorado, but we have more ice on the road then snow. Snow melts within 1-2 days and in evenings and mornings we have ice.
You are right that I should go with the smaller tire 195/65/R15 (Saab recommends it as well), but is it alloy or steel, it is just meter of price. To be honest I'd be willing to spend extra money just to keep the looks. But again that is me.
