Only the 9-3 SE manual shifts were HOT, since the automatics couldn't handle the torque:
Engines
2.0-liter Turbocharged DOHC 16-valve inline-4. 185 hp @ 5,500 rpm, 194 lb-ft torque* @ 2,100 rpm (1999 base 3-door, 5-door and convertibles, automatic and manual, and SE automatic)
2.0-liter High Output Turbocharged DOHC 16-valve inline-4. 200 hp @ 5,500 rpm, 209 lb-ft torque @ 2,300-4,600 rpm (1999 SE manual)
