Let's face it: SAAB has done a lot of experiments in different markets! The Australian 9-3 Monte Carlo edition is but one to name.
The 9-3 HOT officially came out in '99. But before then SAAB experimented with various power outputs. I had the Abbott's engineers crawling over my 9-3SE '98 edition, because they had never seen anything like it! Mine is not a HOT as I once was led to believe, but SAAB has done something to the car that makes it even more powerful than the AERO.
I have now been invited to take my car down to a particular SAAB specialist in January. A couple of people want to know exactly what my car has that makes it so darn fast. They are going to lend me another car for a few days, while they go over my baby with a fine tooth comb. I'll let you know if they find anything!
