The best person to probly ask this is your dealer. It might be nice to know what type of an attitude your dealer has towards performance parts. Some are very flexible other not. One dealer in Mass sell Nordiac performance parts that will allow you to keep your Saab warrenty. Another dealer in Maryland will install upgrades on cars but other dealers though may no share the same attitude and void your warrenty. This is a question alot of new owner ask and I think the real answer from Saab is that upgrades are allowed as long as they do not contribute to the failure to the car. Saying this the dealer is suppose to prove that the upgraded part caused the failure. They need evidence but who is to say what this evidence is. This is why I think you should ask your service advisor first before adding any upgrades.
Now if your dealer ok's the upgrades I would suggest a ECU upgrade. Your car boost is already higher then most and a manual boost controller would only allow for a couple psi more boost. A ECU can allow upwards to 24psi of boost. The only advantage that the manual boost controller may have for you is faster spool as Dean points out in the post below. Also if you just add the MBC it would be very obvious to the dealer when you brought the car in for service if it was still on the car. The ECU upgrade is more hidden and some even swap ecu's before there dealer visits.
I would recommend checking with the dealer first. Then finding out what companies they perfer to work with and then select your upgrade. It might turn out that your dealer already have some solutions for you. That is if they share the same attitude that the two dealer above have.
