I don't have direct experience to relate, but here's something to ponder:
The chip will make changes to your engine management schedule (fuel,ignition timing, and turbo boost) in order to produce more power or different levels of power at a given RPM. Surely the Engineers at SAAB who designed the system as it was supplied are aware of these variables, and chose the settings they did in the interest of durability or driveability. There is going to be some trade off from their design choices if you go with an aftermarket chip. I would certainly think that you will risk warranty coverage if you do have a durability failure, and there is an aftermarket chip installed.
