Anybody who drives in the winter with SUMMER tires and gets in an accident is absolutely negligent.
I have the same car and same tires. There is absolutely now way I would drive with those tires in the snow.
I got myself a set of 15" rims (alloy too) and Gislaved snow tires and the car is absolutely fantastic in the snow. I've watched SUVs spin out, etc while I drive along just fine. Just spend the $400-$800 and get a set of snow tires on their own rims so that you can swap them out in the fall and spring.
Do it before you hurt somebody. Listen to the input here.
