My 1999 9-3 SE convertible has the 4 year warranty ending soon in late May 2002. I bought the car used, and didn't deal with a Saab dealer to purchase. I have a sort of grocery list ranking of items (see below) I would like checked, and fixed if possible under warranty. So, I'm planning to just call/go into a dealer (probably 'West Suburban' in Chicago area), and give them this list to fix. Is this a reasonable plan? Is there a smarter way to do this to maximize the likelyhood that they will do the work? Any comments on the items in the below list?

The below eight items are in order with what I consider most important first:

1. Creaking convertible roof at normal highway speeds. -> When driving the car at highway speeds (about 70mph-75mph+) the convertible roof makes frequent creaking noises. I’ve tried to re-lower/raise the top a number times, but the creaking noise always occurs.

2. The air bag sensor light is on in the speedometer display. -> The air bag sensor light mysteriously just came on more than a week ago. The light is always on when the key is in the ignition.

3. The window glide rollers give off intermittent varying pitch creaking noise. -> This problem possibly references Technical Service Bulletin 811_2100.

4. The wheel lug nuts are excessively rusty. -> These should be replaced if possible under warranty.

5. The cabin AC fan gives of a high pitch squeal on an intermittent basis. -> The cabin AC fan will give off a continuous high pitch squeal about 1 in every 4 times driving the car with Automatic Climate Control on.

6. The driver’s side seat feels to be slightly loose, and sometimes feels to shift around. Should it be checked for being loose.

7. The shocks/struts give off a loud cracking noise over bumps when it’s cold weather out. -> This happens until about 20 minutes of driving, then goes away.

8. The glove compartment light bulb appears to have overheated (and blown out) and melted/burned-through the plastic covering.

Advice is appreciated, Thank you.
