I have a 1993 Saab 93 SE Convertible, and have a comment about the glove compartment light you might be interested in.
The other day I was fixing the burned out trunk light. I referred to the owner's manual and learned that the trunk light has the same bulb as the glove compartment light.
I asked myself "What glove compartment light?", because I didn't remember light ever coming out of the glove compartment in the 6 years I have owned the car. I investigated and found out that there indeed is a light in there. I pulled out the light fixture and saw a switch on it that is supposed to be pushed by the glove compartment door hinge when the door is opened. I could push the switch with my finger and turn the light on, but could not get the door hinge to turn the light on after I replaced the light fixture.
Perhaps it is just a bad design, or maybe the light fixture in my car is bad.
