Hi Buck, I came back online later looking for you but you were already gone :(
For some reason, my car doesn't appear to be pre-wired for trailer lighting even though it is a 1999 9-3 SE. I have almost all carpet out of the back and can't find an open connector at all under either tail light assembly. If I put in the harness mentioned in the original post, that gives me a connector exactly as you describe. So then I need to buy the next connector so I can actually connect to a trailer's lights, upping my lighting investment to $120. Oh well.
My dealer is trying to get instructions, but they only come with the entire trailer hitch kit, part # 02-83-622. I can figure some of it out, but where to plug in the purple power lead up front and the one set of connetors that don't plug in right at the tail lights is up in the air.
