Dean,
I got a 99 9-3 S, auto, stock with almost 30k on it. Heard a lot of ppl on the bulletin boad using K&N filter. So it got my curiosity to question "Does it really make a measurable significant gain?" I just don't know if people mentally feel faster or actually measured it.
So I guess to reduce the restriction on the intake, I could add a cone type filter with a modified air box and get a sport exhaust to increase the back flow. How much turbo spool up, horse power and torque gain will I get after I do all the above? Will it be close to the SE HOT (205 hp)? or I'll need a new ECU or MBC to achieve that? Also I notice there are almost no torque difference between 9-3 S auto and 9-3 HOT auto on the spec found at saabusa.com. Torque makes the car accelerate. If there's no significant torque gain, how would a car pull a faster 0-60?
Sorry, a lot of question, but I just got my car 4 months ago. ;-)
Your response will be appreciated. Thanks.
David
