How much difference does the dealer make?

Hi folks,
Well it's coming down to the wire. I still have some misgivings about Saab reliability (compared to Acura and Mercedes) but really love the cars. My gut tells me now that I should go with a solid dealer.
My local dealer shows up with a somewhat suspicious rating in the BBB. That is, they're not listed under the same address anymore. Nor are they listed under the other model heading (they sell another luxury mark). Plus I just get a strange vibe from some of the dealers there (one in particular). They also claimed a 5 speed I test drove had no road jitter at all when it quite obviously did.
Yet another dealer about 1.5 hours away has what seems to be a good "satisfactory -- 1 complaint in 3 years" rating and have even been mentioned to me by people on this group. They've also been excellent with email responses and the like.
I'm guessing that makes a big difference wrt. overall reliability. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that a larger volume Saab only dealer will be a better experience overall.
1. Dealer prep probably superior
2. Better service dept.
3. Cars overall better maintained, less likely to have been beaten up?
I hate the idea of driving 1.5 hours for service every few months ... but the Acura dealer is about that far anyhow. :-) My gut just tells me that I'll have fewer problems if I buy from the "better" dealer.
Thanks all ... other comments appreciated.
