Finally, we have a name for the 440. There is no more speculation. It will remain named the 9-3. The press released version for the first 6 months or so will be "the all new Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan". The Global media release is on May 13th (I believe @ the Paris Auto Show?). The North American NG9-3 debut will be held on June 1st at the Greenwich Concours. Saab Cars USA Public relations states that "The Greenwich Concours is the premier concours in Northeast America. Held annually in Greenwich, Connecticut, this two day event showcases rare, limited-production, and one of a kind vehicles. It serves as a perfect backdrop for introducing the 2003 9-3 to the domestic market." The market-sales release of the 9-3 Sport Sedan will remain this fall, but an actual date has yet to be confirmed.

Furthermore, an automotive media ride and drive is being held this week featuring the 9-3X. The event is to be held in southern France.

A bit of information for all of us that have been starving for it. I received the information this morning; I'm relieved to have some of my questions put to rest.
