Went to my local Saab shop to have them change a defective seat track and the seat belt buckle under warranty. I also asked them to get rid of a suspension "hooting" noise that drives me nuts. The tech told me he already tried and that the noise was coming from the upper mount of the struts, the bell housings. This noise started after he changed the struts 2 years ago. Obviously he was not willing to do anything about it. I got the typical "everything is normal". Anyway the guy opened the hood and noticed a tiny spot of coolant under the seam of the headgasket. I asked him if it could just need to be retorqued, but he wanted to replace the head gasket. My car has only 29000 miles!
I got a nice 2002 9-3 loaner and picked-up my car 5 days after only to notice they've also changed the turbo and the battery!
I drove away very sceptical about the turbo swap since it was running fine at full boost, without any white fumes nor strange noise other than a typical turbo whine.(turbo silencer was removed). And the battery was fine also. I took the highway ramp and nailed it just to check. We heard a VERY loud wooshhh like if a duct from the turbo to the wastegate was disconnected . Unbelievable. I had boost, but the woosh lasted as long as i was asking for boost. Came back to the shop only to hear that the mechanic heard this and that's why he changed the turbo! I refused any excuses and went back home with the loaner for the week-end.
Now I'm sick of this. Those guys just messed-up with my beautiful 9-3 coupe and now I have a wreck.
To my mind, the only purpose of these unjustified interventions is to make money on Saab's back. Moreover the hooting noise is still there.
Obviously I won't be able to buy this car this summer at the end of the lease. And I don't have the cash to buy a new one. I feel cynical.
Do you think I should call Saab USA or an attorney?
I will greatly appreciate any advice.

Eric.
