You have some..... well... rather odd ideas.
The plugs need to be NKG BCPR6ES11's or 7's
The R is for resistor plug. Got an R. The system will malfunction with a non-resistor plug.
The only thing that triggers the fan for cooling is the temperature sensor which is stalled into the RH rad side tank. The AC also cycles the compressor frequently and the fan comes on with that as well. So if the temp guage is at 9 o'clock then it is probably ok. The engine comparment does get hot. Probably over 200F in stop and go traffic.
Make sure that your oil is not low. Go to the dealer. Check the plugs your self. Check to see if any of them are cross treaded and not seated properly. Check for cracked insulators, on each end.
Lag could be caused by bad pipes or hoses or BPC valve or BPV.
When did the problem start.
