A very rare chance of this but...

I had one annoying rattle in the rear of my car that was caused by ME. When I installed the rear Koni dampers, I was hesitant to tighten too much which allowed the damper to move around and make noise. It was easy to find because I had just installed them. I torqued them down correctly and all was good.
Perhaps the former owner uprated the shocks? I really doubt it but if you check under the rear of your car and don't see those blue Boge shocks, then you have one more culprit. The probability of this is very low but I'd feel irresponsible if I didn't mention it.
ps. Put some grey carpet padding between the rear seat backrests and the rear wheelwells to really tighten things up. It's a last resort but if you do it so that you have to push harder to make the rear seat catch, then you've done it right.
