Hello,
I did the same exact upgrade you are considering...I bought the 16" Moda R1s with RE730s mounted on them from tirerack.com. I like the look and handling of the Moda R1s - very happy with them. The RE730s handled great but after about 5K they became extremely noisy - very, very loud! Esp, after I rotated them. This is a common problem with this tire as I found out later. Tirerack.com gave me my money back for the tires and I ended up getting RE950s which have worked out well for me. They are not summer tires, but they will give you some traction in the snow....
One downside to the Moda R1s...no Saab centercaps will fit the R1s. Believe me, I've tried. All the caps are too big. The only way would be to machine out the tire a bit or to some how make the Saab center cap smaller. I don't really like the Moda center cap. The wheels are made by BBS so I tried to see if any of their caps would fit it...no luck.
All and all, I am happy with the R1.
Regards,
Tom McDonald
