But don't take this as a suggestion to use 5W30 non-synthetic oil. Such an oil will have a very large amount of viscocity index improvers that make the 5W base stock act like a 30W when hot. The VI improvers are long chain plastic type molecules that oxidize and are torn apart by shear forces over time. The oil viscosity can drop and the drop heads for the 5W!
Syntheic oils have little or no VI improvers to break down. And a 5W30 synthetic oil will have much better cold flow properties than a 5W30 dyno oil.
I am using a 5W40 syntheic that works great in my 95SET at over 140000 miles. With a mature engine, a thicker oil makes some sense. My mpg's are better too which is interesting. For new and younger engines the W30's seem to work well.
