this now sounds like similar behavior of my car after removing a MBC. I think the deal is that the ECU has dialed back all of the engine parameters it can to try and bring he boost down. So, basically the ECU is only giving you base boost because of the abnormal boost control. Now that the boost is under proper control, the ECU has to readjust itself again.

To do this, you need to find a long hill that you can drive full throttle in either 4th or 5th gear from 2000 rpm or so on up to at least 4000 rpm. If you are in the states, 4th is probably better. 5th will get you in a bunch of trouble. So, from 2000 rpm or under, give it full throttle and hold it as long as you can. As you do a few runs like this, the ECU will see boost and other engine parameters return to normal and it will then start giving full boost pressure back.

This may only take a few runs or may take several but it works. I did it on my 1999 9-3S after removing a manual boost control and it works. Give it a try and let us know how everything is coming.
