I appreciate the hatch a much as anybody, but even I have to admit it's kinda' funky looking. I echo your feelings about the dash. Where is the wonderful, colorful instrument panel? Yes way too many buttons.
But if it's built as well as they are now and goes as well as it's supposed too, and the pre-lims say it is, then the sedan format will appeal to many more people than those niche buyers of hatchbacks.
And most of your concerns are addressed in a 9-5, the new old Saab.
