Shouldn't be too big of a deal if it is a very clean and well maintained 9-3. Do you know any of the history on the car?
From my adventures on scooting around this board it seems like head gaskets, bent rims, washer fluid pumps, manual HVAC knobs, and some electrical are well detailed problem areas. Many lament the shifter but that seems to run more towards personal taste and each car's uniqueness. Outside of that, the usual number of oddballs bumps and hiccups that can appear with any car.
Be sure to to do the 30K tune. Covers many aeas of the car and is typically worth it.
Over all I think you will be extremely satisfied with your switch to the Swede. I've enjoyed mine even though it did need some TLC at the beginning (bought used and previous owner appears to have just driven with little maintenance). The amenities of the car combined with the functionality and speed are unbeatable.
Just about any question can be answered here on SAABNET probably, from A to Z I think it is obtainable here with a little digging.
Happy SAAB'ing and have fun with it!
