Well, it seemed like they did. From what I gather, the factory ground on the radio is absolutely terrible. They claimed to add some more grounding points, and also claimed to have replaced something in the antenna (necessitating the headliner removal). Once the work was performed, the reception improved without a doubt.
HOWEVER, I think the tuner, overall, is fairly weak and generally provides inconsistent results, no matter how you ground it. I drive through some long stretches of power lines, and some days it's like they're not there, and some days like they are.
I've even had the whole stereo replaced (the AM went completely wacko and started getting stations on the wrong numbers), and the overall quality didn't change much with the new unit. I used to have a bottom-of-the-line Alpine tuner which pulled everything, even if I was sputtering past a substation. Since AM is all I really care for, I'm giving it serious consideration - if I could ever come up with that pesky DIN kit.
