The UK spec Viggen never did have TCS. Many felt that it should have. Well my 9-3 in it current form is rated by the guys at Abbotts to have around 210BHP. Well short of the Viggen 230-250BHP, but good enough to make a reasonable comparisson for TCS sake. My opinion? If you need TCS, you have a heavy foot or still need to master "get away" control. I rode motorbikes for many years and learnt a lot about controlling a bike under full acceleration. I carried that knowledge over when I started driving cars, and so far I don't miss TCS.
Why let TCS suck up some of that power on "lift-off"? You might as well have bought a lesser powered 9-3 2 litre version.
