Ford and VW do not have any relationship at all. I think you are referrring to the Ford-Volvo relationship in your post, but so far I have not seen any cross sharing in that relationship. I'm sure it will happen soon though.
VW has a relationship with Audi (they own them) and also a business relationship with Porsche.
There is lots more technology that GM can use from Saab and we'll probably see this happen more and more over the next several years.
Maybe Saab will loose it's European status and they can start building them beside Chevy Cavaliers or Saturn Ions. If it comes to this they'll probably call it a SaturSaab.
Lets hope that Saab is not tinkered with too much. I was sorry to see the hatchback go.
