Brake Mush, '99 9-3, I am I alone here?

I have a 99 9-3 5dr. and put Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors with factory pads on about six months ago (front only). I don't feel a difference really and was advised against Kevlar pads. I actually want to try them but I had the new pads already so just installed what was on hand. $85.00 is alot to pay for EBC Greenstuff pads. I'm sure there are alot of opinions/experiences out there.
My problem is the indefinite, rubbery feel on my brakes. I have a 9000 that has great brakes but my 9-3 pedal doesn't inspire confidence. It goes almost all the way to the floor when I really stomp on it. It won't bottom, but almost. I know the booster is working. Just a few days ago I was testing the anti-locks in the rain and it works very well, it will stop the car and steer great. It's just that it doesn't have that rock-solid stop in the pedal like other cars. The same was true of the 97 900 I used to have. Just a mushy feel. This is my biggest bitch about newer Saabs. Am I alone here? Looking for advice as well...
Next, I was thinking of changing the brake fluid and going to stainless braided lines.
This is part of a previous post but, I'm looking for input from anyone so started a fresh thread. Who has great brakes on their 9-3S? And what did you have to do to get them?
