I know we are talking newer cars here but I gad a 900 or two that for some strange reason used to get air in the front right brake line and occasionally needed bleeding, never could figure out why only one corner or how it happened, but it obviously resulted in a mushy pedal.
My current 99 9-3 has solid brakes like my old 9000 did, but I'm less than thrilled with performance when first hitting the brake after miles of highway driving in wet/close to freezing weather. First hit will make you think they are gone and then they start to grab. I attribute it to the three spoke wheel design and a combination of wetness and icing, I can live with it, just plan ahead.
