Last month, I ordered the Saab winter tire package (four wheel/tire units) from Taliaferro. The merchandise was promptly sent FedEx and tracking numbers were provided. After several days, it became apparent that something was amiss as the tracking numbers did not produce the expected progression on FedEx's site.

I notified Nick Taliaferro, and within several hours, he discovered that, for whatever reason, my shipment had not left the original FedEx terminal. He quickly resent these items via Express Saver. Within two days, I received three of the four units. After an additional waiting period of approximately one week, it became apparent that there was yet another shipping problem and that I was unlikely to receive the fourth tire any time soon, if at all.

Nick promptly sent a fifth tire/wheel assembly via Express Saver. I received this within three days, thus finishing my order and providing me with a complete set.

I have owned and directly operated a retail business for over sixteen years. I have shipments going in and out on a weekly basis. Using this extensive frame of reference, I can tell you that Taliaferro's approach in this instance was a pleasant exception to the usual stance taken by merchants shipping via FedEx and/or U.P.S.

Because there is so much loss and damage when using either of these two shipping companies, it has become acceptable for sellers to simply allow the customer to sink or swim on his/her own in such situations. Indeed, if a replacement or a credit is eventually issued by a merchant, it is usually only after waiting for weeks to see if the original eventually shows. Many sellers simply tell the buyer to contact the shipping company and apply for compensation with them.

Consider this entire post a strong recommendation for Taliaferro Saab. They stepped up to the plate and hit a real home run for me. I believe that few merchants would have acted as ethically and as professionally. While Nick has put in a claim with FedEx, there is no guarantee that he will receive full and complete compensation. Further, this process will almost inevitably take weeks or months to complete.

I anticipate purchasing at Taliaferro in the future, and I urge anyone considering the purchase of Saab parts to approach this online seller with confidence.
