my question is for anyone who has done an oil change for the new 9-3ss. i recently did an oil change on mine and did not notice a crush washer when i was taking off the drain plug. when i went to examine the drain plug, there was a plastic ring in the plug. i thought it might have been a plastic washer, but it wouldn't budge when i tried to remove it. is this thing a seal in the new drain plugs so that we won't need crush washers anymore? or is this plastic thing the crush washer. i didn't want to futz around with it, so i just put the drain plug back in after i emptied the oil, so far no leaks. the new oil filter placement's real easy to get at from above the engine, you just have to remove the plastic covering on the engine. can anybody comment about the new drain plugs? do they make plastic crush washers?
