You will want to extract the fluid in the reservior and replace with new prior to bleeding. Don't stroke the petal all of the way to the floor, use 1/2 strokes. A 2x4 behind the petal helps, especially if you have an assistant.
If you can press the caliper pistons in as part of your work to return as much fluid back to the reservoir and remove that first, all the better.
The only place where moisture contamination occurs is at the vented reservoir. So get the contamiation out there and don't pump it all of the way thru the system. It is a stupid design! The fluid should be separated from the air by a diaphram, but the europeans just will not change!
