seal diaphragms? Posted by JimBlake [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: brake bleeding order?, Dean, Fri, 10 Jan 2003 18:15:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I appreciate your suggestions, & I think I understand the reasons for them. I just didn't know if Saab gave a specific order for bleeding. Maybe it only matters if you open the system (like if you replace a caliper) & get lots of air.
Devil's advocate on one point, tho... Stroke the pedal all the way to the floor. Under normal use the MC pistons don't stroke that far, but maybe you want to stroke them 'somewhat' further than normal. Just to clean up that portion of the bore so it doesn't remain totally unused. That way a real panic braking situation isn't the first time the MC ever stroked that far. I'm not completely convinced on either side of this issue, but its interesting...
Sealing the fluid with a diaphragm sounds neat, but I wasn't aware of anybody who does that. So are 'the europeans' any different than others? Now I'm curious - who's doing anything different to seal the fluid from the air?
