That is a bummer about the weights tearing up the outer rim lip. My original SAAB five spokes were trashed from that and the previous owner's repeated adventures against the curb. Replaced with the Sport Edition Tekno wheels and will convert the originals to winter duty after cleaning up & repainting.
If your rims aren't in too bad of shape you might try switching to the taped (adhesive backed) type to save the outer rim lip. In years past these were a risky venture as they would occassionally come off (scared the pants off of me at 80 mph bouncing around the wheel well and the instant "wobbly" ride to the shoulder). Newer adhesive backings and an attentive mounter (cleans the inside rim before attaching) have pretty much eliminated this risk on my recent balance & mounts.
I think you'll like the RE-730 GII, as I blabbered before they seem to really agree with the 9-3 and they have a nice price point too.
