Sorry couldn't resist.
I've never tried it but suspect trying to steam the headliner could easily turn into a disaster. Not sure how it is adhered (glue obviously, but what type) and how that glue would react to the steam and temp. Same for the fabric itself. I'd check with a couple of dealers or reputable detailers to see what the consensus is with that.
I use Lexol and Zymol's leather cleaners/conditioners with good success on my leather products (prefer Lexol).
Found Woolite's Fabric and Upholstery Cleaner works great on the headliner for problem spots in my 9-3. Had some funk in the back headliner of mine when I bought it and the Woolite took it right out without making the fabric loosen & pill or discolor (I do have a gray interior that is less sensitive to discoloring).
