But it warrants attention based on your driving habits. The speed rating is simply a rating placed on the tire after receiving load testing by the manufacturer to determine the stress the tire will withstand. A higher speed rating simply means you'll be able to potentially have safer operation up to or below the indicated speed rating. If you drive fast and aggressively, a higher speed rated tire will endure longer runs at high speeds where a lower rated tire may show inconsistent wear and performance leading to premature failure or a loss of control.
Be sure to watch the load rating. This is very important as it dictates the weight load the tire will support. It is often an overlooked item when people set out looking for "the best deal" on new black round things for their cars...
Start with the baseline ratings given in the owner's manual and improve upon them for better results when you go to buy replacements.
Given what you are reporting the car comes with, new and better suited tires will drastically improve the car's handling/feel! Can the originals as soon as you can.
