Thanks for your responses, insight & info. I believe you've confirmed my initial thought of simply going to get a good set of 205/55/16's for improved ride, noise and curb/wheel protection. I have been primarily a Michelin customer, but as I explored my options, found the range of choices overwhelming and much of what I found in searches here related to looks or improved agressive driving applications. In the Memphis area, there is very little snow consideration (and very few Saabs, being a little too sophisticated a car for the combined "Smoky and the Bandit/ Gangsta" local mentality and one recently adorned Cadillac/Saab dealer!)Whereas I still fully appreciate the spirited nature of my 99SE, I find with my advancing age that I just don't drive it as agressively now and find the compromise in quiet and comfort favorable over absolute performance. Besides, I've spent most of my life racing 2 wheelers, still have a couple of 190+mph bikes if I need a cheap thrill. Your practical insight was exactly what I was looking for. There is no replacement for experience! I'm now leaning toward the Yokohamas, but the AVS Db is a directional tire, limiting rotation. I'm going to look into the other models they offer and see how they compare. Any further suggestions for my application? I'd still like to fix that darn ACC Display unit! Thanks again.
