No info for you on the ACC display, sorry.
As for tires, by "improved" I'm assuming you mean "softer"? Also, why narrower? Snow/rain?
I wanted to get better snow/rain characteristics but keep the same overall wheel height, so what I ended up doing was getting a set of 15" used factory alloys ($400) & put 195/60's on'em. My wife absolutely loves the ride compared to the 205/50-16 Pilots; no uneven surface tracking or steering wheel pull, & better bump absorption. Of course, they don't stick as well during aggressive driving, & the road noise actually increased due to the tread design (M+S for all-season/winter use). Drew's absolutely right about opinions on the 205/55-16's. I also noticed Tire Rack carries a handful of 195/55-16's, but they ain't cheap & I don't recall anyone saying they were using them.
