I bought a '99 9-3 SE HOT onvertible with 37k from a private party, not a dealer, last July. The original factory warranty expires this coming June. Can I still take it to a dealer to get it certified?
And if so, the math suggests that to break even on the $1,500 certification charge, I need to incur $750 in non-routine maintenance bills for each of the next 2 years. Does that seem like a good bet to you long time Saabers? In the first 6 months / 6k miles it seems to be a pretty reliable car.
One more fact, I live in California where many extenbded warranty companies do not offer protection due to more stringent consumer protection laws, so buying an extended warranty may not be feasible.
