This does sound familiar. I have a diagnosed front 02 sensor failure. I've been experiencing power loss and CELs particularly around 2K RPMs (normal driving), that's where I'll get a momentary drop. It is spooky. I've replaced the DI Cassette, plugs and added Techron Concentrate. I haven't had a chance to re-seat the O2 sensor or test yet with a multi meter per Dean's advise ( see: http://saabnet.com/tsn/bb/9-3/index.html?bID=50750 )
My point is; I haven't noticed this drop out while over 2200 RPMs. I had to get on the highway today for 20 miles, all was well... lots of 4th gear to stay over 2200 RPMs.
YMMV
btw: Aren't you supposed to have a 2nd O2 sensor installed? <g>
