If you want to improve the steering, this is really neccessary. In 1995.5 the steering racks were switched from an aluminum casting to a smaller diameter steel fabricated unit. They did not reengineer the mounting clamps or bolt points, they just make a rubber mount bushing that was fatter to fill the gap, and they never fixed that, the Viggens suffered from the same stupidity. Officeboy was looking at having the rubber ones replaced with a machined plastic part but that never happened in terms of being able to purchase. I would be tempted, if I was going to do that, to make bushing replacements out of hard maple. If you have a band saw, you are good to go. A drum sander with and electric drill can be used for the final fitting. Some all rubber electrical tape can be used for a conformal layer that will provide lots of friction. This way you could constrain the rack at both mounts instead of one and this might even be better than one metal unit plus a brace. The mount on the drivers side is hard to get to, thats why one one side is usually done, but it can be done.
