Devil VW is gone. I now have Saab & a newbie question

Thanks for your guidance folks.
After much pain, gnashing, wailing, and getting raped on my trade in, I've taken delivery of a 2000 Saab 9-3SE.
After driving my first 100 Miles I have a question. I've seached the board & couldn't find an answer & I dont have a manual yet to RTFM. :)
Today it was pretty warm inside my car so I dropped the ACC to the LO setting. However, the A/C never kicked in. At least, I hope it didn't otherwise I'll be making a visit to my local service center. ECON wasn't on, but it never really blew cool air. Could it be that the reason the A/C never fired up was because it was only 63 degrees outdoors?
Other than that my only complaints are the boat float key fob, and the worthless cupholder. Speaking of the key fob, does it actually float? It looks like one of the flotation things you put on the key for your boat. :D
Thanks again!
Justin
