The car will tend to very slowly veer to one side of the road or the other depending on the canting of the road surface. Like a football field most roads have a slight, lateral arc in the surface for water runoff. In addition, should you fall asleep your car will tend to veer off the road rather than into other lanes of traffic.
Do a simple test. Find a 4-lane highway, and in one lane, CAREFULLY take your hands off the wheel and see if the car veers towards the gutter. Now try the other lane. If the car veers in two different directions depending on which lane you are in, it's most likely not an alignment issue. Alternatively, find a really flat parking lot and see if the car still tends to pull to one side or the other.
